ILICO Pty Ltd trading as NSAUDIOLOGY respects your personal information, and your privacy is important to us. Our handling of personal information is subject to the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

This Privacy Policy sets out our personal information management practices. In this Privacy Policy, all references to “NSAUDIOLOGY”, “we”, “our” and “us” means ILICO Pty Ltd (CAN 622 108 678) trading name NSAUDIOLOGY. This Privacy Policy also applies to all employees and contractors of NSAUDIOLOGY in relation to the collection, storage, use and disclosure of personal information in the workplace. Throughout this Policy, we refer to your ‘personal information’, which means information that identifies you as an individual or from which you can be reasonably identified. ‘Health information’ is a type of sensitive personal information that relates to your health.

NSAudiology is committed to protecting the privacy and confidentiality of your personal and health information. We comply with the Health Records and Information Privacy Act 2002 (NSW) and the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), including the Australian Privacy Principles.
 

What Information We Collect

We collect personal and health information necessary to provide high-quality audiology care, including:
  • Name, contact details and date of birth
  • Hearing and relevant medical history
  • Hearing assessments, test results and reports
  • Hearing aid, device and rehabilitation records
 

How We Use Your Information

Your information is used to:
  • Assess hearing and provide audiology services
  • Fit, program and support hearing devices
  • Provide hearing rehabilitation and follow-up care
  • Communicate with you and other healthcare providers involved in your care
  • Manage billing and claims processes, when applicable, including Medicare, the Hearing Services Program (HSP), NDIS, DVA or private health insurers 
We only use or disclose your information for purposes directly related to your care, unless required or permitted by law.
 

AI-Assisted Clinical Documentation

NSAudiology may use AI-assisted tools (such as AI scribes) to support clinical documentation during consultations.
  • You will be informed and asked for consent before any AI tool is used 
  • AI-generated notes are reviewed and approved by your audiologist before being added to your clinical record 
  • You may decline or withdraw consent at any time, without affecting your care 
 

Storage and Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from loss, misuse, interference, unauthorised access or disclosure. Personal and health records are stored securely with access limited to authorised staff. Hearing Services Program (HSP) client records are managed, stored, transferred and disposed of in accordance with HSP requirements, relevant laws and professional standards, including secure physical and electronic systems, appropriate retention periods, and safeguards for data backup and recovery.
NSAudiology does not store or transfer personal or health information outside Australia.
 

Access and Correction

You may request access to, or correction of, your personal or health information held by NSAudiology. Requests can be made by contacting the clinic.
